The
Peakhurst South Public annual fete was held on the
24th of March this year and Flemington Direct were
there to help raise funds for the school. We donated
a stand of fruit and vegetables, with all proceeds
going to the school. All the produce was sold for
cost price and the buying resembled a feeding frenzy
as every last piece of fruit and veg was snapped
up.
As a result our contribution to the school was $421
for the produce sold and $280 for the box drive.
For a total of $701 which was greatly appreciated.
The most satisfying part of the day was our introduction
of a new game for the kids - 'Make Flemington Direct
Man'. As you can see by the photos (scroll down)
the kids had a great time. The creativity and enthusiasm
displayed reached fever pitch as we soon realised
we had severely underestimated the amount of toothpicks
we would need.
'Make Flemington Direct Man' will now be a regular
at all our future fundraising events, imagine kids
getting excited over fruit and vegetables instead
of chocolates and donuts.
We would like to thank the organisers of the fete
for inviting us into their school and we look forward
to turning up next year.
